An FBI Identity History Summary (often called an FBI background check) is a fingerprint-based report from the FBI. It reflects federal criminal history information associated with the fingerprints submitted (if any).
How long does it take to get results?
Results are often available within 24–48 hours. Timing can vary based on submission details, processing volume, and matching requirements.
How do I receive my FBI report?
You typically receive secure digital access (a link and a PIN) to download your report as a PDF. Keep your PIN in a safe place.
Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are accepted during posted office hours (Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). Appointments are recommended for faster service. Mobile appointments require scheduling.
What ID is required?
A valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID is required (driver’s license, state ID, passport). If your name has changed, bring supporting documentation if available.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Bring your government-issued photo ID and any instructions provided by your employer, agency, or destination country (if applicable). If you’re unsure, bring whatever you received—email, letter, or portal instructions.
Is this the same as a state background check?
No. An FBI Identity History Summary is federal and fingerprint-based. Some employers or agencies require a Texas DPS or other state-specific check instead. If you’re unsure which you need, call us and we’ll help you identify the correct option.
Can I use an FBI report for immigration, visas, or work abroad?
Yes. Many clients request FBI Identity History Summaries for immigration, visas, travel, and international employment. Requirements vary by country and program. If an apostille is needed, ask us about options and timelines.

Rejections are uncommon when prints are captured properly, but they can happen for reasons outside anyone’s control (skin condition, scarring, or agency quality thresholds). We check clarity during capture to reduce avoidable issues. If an agency requests resubmission, call us right away so we can guide next steps.
Do you offer mobile service?
Yes. Mobile appointments are available across the DFW Metroplex 24/7 by appointment. Mobile fees vary by location, time, and group size.
